Bear Viewing
From mid May to mid September, Homer, Alaska is the premier destination for bear viewing in the world. Alaskan brown bears are among the largest in the world, and some of the highest concentrations of Alaskan brown bears are directly west of Homer. You are virtually guaranteed to see bears.
Tour operators will pick up in Homer and fly to one of several popular bear viewing destinations, including Lake Clark, Katmai National Park, Bruin Bay, and McNeil River Sanctuary. Flight time is approximately 1 hour each way and highlights some of Alaska’s most spectacular natural scenery along the way!
