Homer: “Halibut Fishing Capital of the World”
More Halibut. More Charters. More Kachemak. More Fun!
There are several reasons Homer has long been known as the halibut fishing capital of the world. With more charters and more halibut landings than any port in Alaska, fishermen come from all over the world to catch the largest sportfish in Alaska.
From April through September, Kachemak Bay offers a multitude of halibut fishing experiences, including deep-sea quests for a 300-pound+ derby winners, to kid-friendly experiences for kids and grandkids in Kachemak Bay’s relatively calm waters. Average halibut catches range between 15 to 100 pounds.
