Winter King Derby
Mid March Each Year
This annual one-day winter King Salmon fishing derby offers something for everyone and over $150,000 in cash and merchandise prizes. Don’t wait to make your reservations with our Getaway Package including dinner as this event often draws 800 to 900 anglers into our community. This decidedly Alaskan event combines a great day of fishing, great food and prizes, and even the opportunity to win without catching a fish.
Kachemak Bay Writer’s Conference
Early June Each Year
This nationally recognized writer’s conference is sponsored by Kachemak Bay Campus- Kenai Peninsula College/UAA and is hosted at Land’s End in June of each year. Since 2002, the conference has been at the heart of Alaska’s growing literary community. Activities include: daily workshops, panel presentations, opening keynote dinner, readings, four luncheons, Writer’s Circles and much more. Reserve your lodging early as this event is sold out annually!
Homer Spit Run
Late June Each Year and Generally the same Saturday as the Land’s End Regatta
Homer’s Annual 10-k footrace is open to all ages and abilities, and begins at the Homer High School and ends at Land’s End. After the event, celebrate with other participants with food, music and fun on Land’s End Chart Room outdoor deck.

Homer Yatch Club and Land’s End team up every year for this two-day race competition. Boats and crews converge on Kachemak Bay from around Alaska and far away exotic places. Boats are always looking for experienced crew, so come join us for a weekend of sailing! Or watch the action from the Land’s End deck.
Murder Mystery Weekend at Land’s End
November 2 – 4, 2018
Participating guests will find themselves caught up in an investigation as they try and solve a homicide case while discovering and analyzing hidden evidence, interrogating realistic suspects all the while finding they themselves are under suspicion. Murder Mystery USA labeled “The Masterminds of the genre” by the Los Angeles Times creates a fresh mystery with professional actor/detective each Fall. A Fall classic for Land’s End!
